They are very commonly modded. The range of parts available is very broad. In fact long Island Watches, one of the larger us sellers of Seiko offers a very large in house customization program. They where common and made for a very long time. So no one cares about missing them. Even now after production is over they are not yet frowned upon for being modded. I won’t lie I have a NIB one from one of the last months of production in storage. But I’m not taking care of my older 009 either and use it as my knock around watch.
A new arrival yesterday... a True Pogue from Feb ‘71. The crystal is pretty rough, but under it lies a sweet dial and inner bezel. My favourite detail, is the way the red on the bezel has faded...
In the past.. Hi-Beat 6215, the 62MAS 6217, and the “Tuna” 6159 June 2020 https://www.seikowatches.com/global-en/products/prospex/special/55th-anniversary-limited/ All those re-creations powered by 8L* movements it is probably bit too rich for my pocket, but I am sold to this affordable "6RMAS" SPB149
There are more. Just to mention the modern affordable versions of 6105-8110 Here are all references and specs. https://www.plus9time.com/blog/2020/3/5/prospex-seiko-march-2020-announcements
Great re-editions from Seiko and sad they played the limited game again... Also dont understand these prices of 6-7k..
Here is some interesting information regarding the upcoming limited SPB149 and some other unlimited and maybe even more affordable watches with the same style and size that Seiko will release this year. https://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/s...2s-1965-modern-re-interpretation-5141327.html
I had a 6139-6010 aka Bruce Lee arrive this week... a new crystal and NOS bezel and this thing will be awesome!
