Here's a Seiko ad featuring your watch in a 1973 Time Magazine issue. Yours looks just as sharp today as back then, do like that bracelet though.

My contribution: Seiko SBDC047 (a.k.a. Transocean).

    Highlights:
    a) It has a sunburst blue dial that is stunning. Seriously, I still haven't found a sunburst blue dial that is so impressive (and I got 2 omegas with blue dials). Sometimes it looks deep cerulean, sometimes black depending on the lighting.

    b) The integrated lug/bracelet is pretty modern and allows it to wear smaller than its size (45mm) would suggest. Wears more like a 42mm really. Downside: it won't allow to swap straps.

    c) The bezel is ceramic. I mean the *whole* bezel is ceramic (not a thin ceramic film on top of it!).

    d) Sprong main spring allows 50hs of power reserve.

    e) Also black ceramic on top of the crown.

    f) Sapphire crystal.

    g) Diashield coating: it is not snake oil, it really protects against scratches.

Even though is an amazing watch, it is not really popular and people don't talk much about it.

Anyone have a Prospex Solar Diver? Was looking at them for a beach/vacation watch that I wouldn’t have to worry about.

@blunosr - while I too would be interested in what @pongster has to say, you also cant go wrong with a Seiko SKX-007. It's an automatic as opposed to a no worry quartz, but thought it worth mentioning. It's a well designed, budget friendly, workhorse vacation watch.

    @Waxtactic
    Thanks
I hear you and agree. I just like the splash of yellow version and to me the SKK007 too closely resembles my 6306 7000.

I like it. It’s my only solar so far. I like the idea of it potentially running forever without need of battery change. Just make sure it’s worn often enough to get light.

I changed the strap to strapcode’s PVD bracelet. So it feels nice on the wrist whenever wear it.

Blunosr, what did you want to find out in particular?

It’s more of an orange i think. At least in my eyes.

I also have a 007 and a 6306. I dont think theyre redundant. You can have both.

Excellent shot call...and so budget friendly. I’m going to have a hard time not running out tomorrow and getting one.
