Just find out that we have a thread requesting a Seiko thread because we don't have one. I am pretty sure there are many people like me out there: people who were drawn into this WIS madness because of cheap but good quality Seiko. I started this expensive hobby with Seiko SARB. Once knowing the watch world, I was attracted by Omega and its Speedmaster, but felt it was too expensive for my wallet, which was a mere student back then. Then I learnt about GS, and the rest is history. Seiko deserve to have a spot in here in OF.
I don't mind either way, but Seiko seem to be doing a lot of good things these days and charging accordingly.
Not sure if this has been mentioned already but just today is the release of the SRPD01K1 and SRPD03K1 being the new Dawn Grey limited edition to 2018 of each. The Turtle is the 01 and the Samurai is the 03. I think these will be snapped up being the first Europe only limited Seikos in ages.
Good timing. I received both of my orders today and that turtle looks fookin awesome. The dial is far better I thought it would look. Worth the extra £50 from previous editions and you get a rubber grey strap with it. It will go nicely next to the Ninja srpc49k1
So I started with a Tag, and then a vintage Omega, but quickly came to enjoy my Seiko...Which quickly became Seikos shortly there after
I just bought my first (two) Seiko's and I can see this becoming a 'thing'. Why is there still no sub-forum?
First welcome to the party, second hide your wallet because third...wait until you start looking into more of the vintage diver automatics.
@blunosr Is that a Captain Willard (6105?)? And that Pogue...dang that is nice and clean. Well played. @sdre - awesome 6138-8020 Panda...love the faded second sweep.
Here is my first Seiko I ever bought while in the US Navy from the ships store in the 1980's a Seiko quartz 7548 Me in my younger days wearing it. And this one I picked up used later in life when I got the watch collecting bug. A Seiko 6105. Think I paid 300 for it did need a new crystal and service. Prices sure went up on these since I got it like most vintage. With a Olongapo bracelet on it.
