Well, I have to accept that insult happens when the person on the receiving end feels slighted irrespective of whether that slight was intended, deliberate or accidental.

I'm just saying that here in Britain boy is not construed as insulting or racist and, in fact, here in East Anglia (it's the mostly rural part which sticks out into the North Sea), boy is usually a term of endearment. Just because you find it "very racist" doesn't make it so any more than me thinking that my Seiko Sumo is a great watch doesn't make it so.

Can we get back to watches now chaps?

And, should you cross the Pennines to the "wet side" more widely known as Lancashire, you're equally likely to be addressed as "cock" without any form of insult being intended. Quite the opposite effect.

Highly appropriate. Language, dialect and regional usage: far more interesting than silly old watches.

Saw a few chats recently about the alpinist in other fora. So got inspired.

So I know I'm new to the site and that a thimble of water holds more weight than I do, but yes please to the Seiko section.

Walked into a watch shop the other day and saw a Seiko advertisement. I thought "the picture looks like mine!" so I asked the dealer to let me take a picture together with 6105-8000.

I then realised it is not the same: it's a 6309 in the ad, promoting the modern Prospex range which uses a similar case. That said, the 6309 does take design queues from the 6105-8100, and who knows, maybe there will be a reedition of the first generation of Seiko's second diver.

Not a Seiko Watch but a Seiko movement used by Paul Peugeot (this one) , Westclox and other makers.

    The Seiko 66A
    AKA F 200 or A 201(Westclox)

The Seiko watches with this movement are respected for durability. The others seem to have had a following in their day.
A solid no nonsense manual wind every day watch.
