Hey All,

I'm looking to expand my Seiko watch collection and I've had my eye on the Seiko "Red Alpinist" SCVF007. I haven't seen a lot on the market, but was wondering if anyone has owned one or does own one that can give me an idea of how their ownership experience is. I'm in talks to buy one from someone, but need to educate myself further. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

I am referring to this watch 😀 Lol. It seems like it was Japanese market only watch. I wasn't sure how serviceable the movement would be over in the states or how easy it was to source parts for it if something broke. Any info would be helpful 😀

The 4S15 movement is pretty reliable, much like many of Seiko's movements. Easy to service and not particularly rare so spare parts (if needed) shouldn't be a huge problem.

Thanks for the info! That's good to hear. I'm looking at one, but I've got some concerns about the crystal condition. It might need to be replaced going forward, but Idk how easy that is to do with the cyclops. I've heard some mixed things that a generic wouldn't line up properly with the date window.

Update: Looks like I found someone willing to sell one to me. I'll share some pictures once it's delivered.

Even the cat seems mildly interested.
The cat is whispering "put it on the table, put it on the table..........near the edge of the table......".

Haha! Thanks! Yeah, in person it's really a nice looking watch. I ordered a few leather straps for it as well. The cat needs to be involved in everything LOL! I have two and they are constantly by my side checking out what's going on.
