So, under Seiko’s current operating model, they have a tendency to release LE’s at a high frequency. This was official announced on July 4th:

Lo and behold, we have another 62MAS re-edition. I missed out on the SLA017 from 2017. This SJE093 is a slightly more faithful rendition of the 62MAS with a diameter of 38mm, a case height of 12.5mm, and a lug-to-lug length of 46mm. This is a LE run of 1965 pieces, which are numbered:

After doing some research on their site, I decided to visit a local AD that I never knew existed. Immediately upon arrival, I went to the Seiko display cases and didn’t see one. The lady asked if she could assist me. I replied, “Well, don’t laugh. I was hoping you had the SJE093 available.” There just happened to be one in the back!

Well, needless to say, it didn’t take me too long to decide to pull out the plastic! Unlike the SLA017, there is no bracelet included with this edition. You have a black silicone Tropic-style strap, which is very comfortable, but quite long in typical Seiko fashion:

Love this “distortion” of the dial through the crystal:

Apologies if this upsets those of you who were fortunate to obtain the SLA017. Honestly, I’m not sure how I would feel if I was in your shoes. But I’m grateful to have been provided another chance!
