Do you Seiko experts rate the Seiko MOD ? I bought one that impersonates an Omega Seamaster with a white dial, I actually prefer this as it doesn't have the release button which I find digs into my wrist.
It keeps excellent time too.

There's a very fine line between mods and fakes. Unfortunately, this looks like the latter to me.

Out of interest why do you think this is a fake Seiko ? the mechanism looks correct to me., but what do I know. But fake or not it keeps excellent time, loses a few seconds per day.

On all my "Seiko" mods that I have built, I used sterile dials. Just because there is an NH35 inside doesn't make it a Seiko. Policing is very loose on these probably because the price point is low. There is a large community of the Chinese sourced components and are fun due to the lego style interchangeability.

That said, I own a few that were acquired in trades and look very cool. Will never sell them and plan to put a sterile dial on eventually.

Fantasy dials are fakes. I use non branded dials and other parts only and never call them Seiko (or Omega, or Rolex, or whatever). They're parts watches. And none attempt to look like an existing watch as you can buy those already, unless it's really vintage, or very, very, very rare. The whole point to me is to get something in a configuration I can't find elsewhere.

Well the Omega variant is rare as only made for 1 year.
I wear this at work as daily wearer.

Seiko meticulously puts serial and model numbers on the back of their watches plus marking information on the movement and counterweight. No question that this one is counterfeit.

But the good news is that you can wear it to work as a builder without worrying - something that all Speedmaster owners fret about when mowing their lawns 😀👌

Couldn't care less it's a fake, still keeps excellent time.
It's also a counterfeit since it's using otherwise protected branding on a product not produced by, nor endorsed by the holding company.

I mean, you asked, so you must know the truth of it.
