For sale is a 1970 vintage Seiko Lord Marvel, ref. 5740-8000 with high beat movement. The dial, crystal, case, caseback, crown and hands are all original. Previous owner claimed service in 2009, but there is no documentation so consider service history unknown. Watch functions as it should and keeps time well (about +3s/day in the box, though YMMV). A small (~1mm) mark in the crystal near 12 o'clock and a few spots on the dial but otherwise remarkably clean for a nearly fifty-year old watch. Case shows wear consistent with age, though appears to have been polished at some point in the past. Comes with Hirsch strap shown in pictures. $275 shipped to US only. GLWS. I have the '68 model of this and love its elegant simplicity. The smooth sweep of the second hand is mesmerising too.
At this price, it's starting to get compelling...(but I already have two of them - this one and one with linen dial.)
