Up for sale is a Seiko 7005-7080 time and date watch from the mid 70's (1974 going by the serial nr). This was a surprise find in an antique shop last October. I bought two watches, this and a 6139-6012 which I have decided to keep for now. Following purchase I sent it off for a full service and sympathetic clean (not polish). This was carried out by @Sir Alan, a member of the OF and a wiz at servicing vintage Seiko. Works undertaken are as follows: - Clean case and bracelet - New Seiko crystal (300T07AN) - New gaskets to crown and caseback - New ratchet wheel screw BRACELET - I have no way of knowing for certain but the seller (owner of the antique shop, whose watch it was) tells me he owned the watch with the bracelet from new. CASE; bevels are sharp, scratches as one would expect from a non-polished watch. There is also a small ding to the non crown side of the case but it's hardly noticeable when the watch is on the wrist. DIAL/HANDS: Both are in excellent condition. I would say the dial is pretty flawless. People have commented on how good the blue dial looks. It's a very vibrant blue which changes shade depending on the angle you look at it. CROWN: Believed to be original. Ratchet screw replaced at recent service, as mentioned. BRACELET: Seiko signed three link, believed to be original. Scratches as one would expect. MOVEMENT: Automatic movement, recently serviced. BOX & PAPERS: none. PRICE: I have reduced my asking price and am now asking £225 to include free UK shipping. I would prefer a UK sale if possible. However, I'm open to discussion on this. Payment by bank transfer please. I have bought and sold various watched on the OF and would be happy to provide references upon request. Please message me if you are interested in the watch and thanks OF for the space.
To this day my old 7006 remains one of my favorite and most oft worn pieces - have a bump on me for its cousin here and GLWS!
