I lost that watch because someone made an offer the seller cannot refuse but i am still looking. I know plenty of members love seiko so i am going to ask for your opinion again.
The 6309 - 7040 is described as working, all original with a letter from a watch repair shop . The dial appears original , with the Suwa dial and lume. It also has the text “Japan 6309-704L T”.The 6 o'clock maker is clearly above the writing. The bezel appears original except the colour , caseback i think has the corect markings and the movement is unknown to me. The seller wants 550 USD but i think he will take less. s-l1600 (1).jpg s-l1600 (5).jpg s-l1600 (2).jpg s-l1600 (6).jpg Thank you

No replies, so obviously i am doing something wrong.
I would like to find a good example for 300 pounds but there are none . Any suggestions are welcomed.
    Thank you

    Little early ;)

My notes show that a tad high for that condition. I think you can find much better for that price.

I wouldn't delve to far into these if you have not figured out how to date these. There are a lot of gotchas to learn. Research this model there are some great forums out there for vintage Seiko that can help you out more. So far this forum has not delved into grading and providing research on Vintage Seiko pieces. It's only a matter of time as I think vintage Seiko might be the next hot spot in watch collecting.

you should be able to find a nice 6309 for $350-$400, it's not like they are rare... check the Seiko/Citizen watch forum (SCWF)

    @Hattrick: Also, check seikoholics.yuku.com.

    http://seikoholics.yuku.com/forums

Lots of good reference data as well as a sales section.

EDIT ADDITION @Hattrick: The webmaster (Mr. Randall Benson) at seikoholics.yuku.com is also a watchmaker...he specializes in working on Seikos. About two years ago he overhauled/serviced my 6309-7049 (pictured below) that I purchased new in 1987...Randall did a great job!

Spencer worked on a modified SKX of mine. He is reasonable and knows Seikos inside out. He will answer a lot of questions without having anything to gain too. A very nice gentleman.

hey Hattrick -- just joined the forum to drop you a note -- I just built a tool that helps sort through the listings in the various forums (it's a competitor to WatchRecon) -- there are quite a few 6309's listed on there at the moment (http://www.watchpatrol.net/explorer/?query=seiko+6309). Hope that helps.

Arrived 3 hours before my baby girl who was born yesterday so i guess this watch is going to be special.
Looks good inside and out and keeps perfect time.
It is not the best photo but that is all i have at the moment.
Thank you very much for all the support and info. 20170207_131233.jpg 20170207_115550.jpg

The dial is original , not relumed , and this occurred during the making of the dial.
At least this is what the watchmaker told me. P1350715_zpsrlon3eui.jpg P1350713_zpsnqbyxhir.jpg
