Hi OF For your consideration, a cracking Seiko 6139-6002 SN : 452XX produced in May 1974. This is a European market Pogue. It was purchased from Spain, and the day wheel is also marked 'ES'. Dial: Stunning original yellow sunburst dial in mint condition. There is a small blemish just above 4 o'clock. In taking these pics, this is the first time I notice it. I have never noticed it on the wrist. Lume plots are perfect with zero degradation or patina. With vintage Seiko's 'patina' usually looks dirty and the glow is reduced...it is undesirable. Hands and inner rotating bezel have matching clean lume. Minute hand is just starting to patinate near the center. See (*) as well, down below. Bezel: Excellent Pepsi tachymeter bezel with no chips or scratches and a ding at 80. Case: In fantastic original condition, all factory finishes present. Wear is consistent with a cared-for 44 year old watch. Caseback: Correct for this model and reference. New gasket. Movement: 17 jewels 6139B movement, fresh from service with Duncan (The Watch Bloke) (Last week of Nov '17). Watch comes with service receipt which serves as guarantee. Pushers: I believe the seals were replaced, but the pushers are original. Crystal: Replaced at service. Crown: Original crown kept at service. As you may know, these crowns are magic, and all functions work perfectly. Inner Rotating Bezel: Original, working perfectly. Bracelet: Comes with original Seiko H-link bracelet. It fits my 7.5inch wrist, I believe it will fit an 8 inch wrist. Notes: During service it was tested to 5bar water resistance, but this is a vintage watch, so I would not swim with it, and this is explicitly not guaranteed (as you well know). Still gives some peace of mind. All functions working perfectly. References: Sold 2 watch here before, have a 100% good rating on other platforms if you would like to checkup (please PM me). https://omegaforums.net/threads/eugeneandresson-great-seller.74266/ (awaiting feedback from previous sale) Asking price: 1050CHF net to me, includes priority insured international shipping. I would prefer a wired transfer, but will accept Paypal (buyer covers fees). The watch and I are located in Switzerland. Face to face also welcome. Returns accepted if the watch is grossly misrepresented. Seeing as the pictures are of a high quality, there is no chance of misrepresentation. Warts-n-all-pictures (click for super high-res): (All pics taken under diffused sunlight) Service Pics : These are just so cool...first one is how it came to me. Why I am selling : I have another one, in slighty better condition (although I think this one's dial is better )... Thanks OF for this space ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (*) The Dial + family pics The reason I include this section, is the same reason I have 2 pogues : somebody professing to be a Seiko guru told me I had an aftermarket dial in my watch when I got this one. Pointy-A's in Japan he said. The condition the watch came in (a diamond in the rough -> well worn, chipped and scratched crystal, detritus everywhere, but everything else matching and looking kosher, factory finishes intact and untouched, aged the same, belonging) was the first clue against this misinformation. Lurking on wristsushi yielded original mint pogues with this dial, googling discovered a 1 owner watch with this dial. Googling images of Seiko watches (not just these) showed loads of other vintage Seiko's with flat-topped-A marked 'XXXX T' between 4/5, and with pointy-topped-A marked 'XXXX R' between 4/5. I told him this (in fact, all my modern Seiko's are 'pointy-A' with 'XXXX R' AND all are Korean made). And then he changed his rules, and proceeded to look for other things which were clearly dismiss-able, like the next set of misinformation : aftermarket dials have minute sub-register markers that don't come right to the lip of the sub-register. Anyhow, bottom line is this : there are some ways to spot aftermarket dials, but the most definite is by looking at the rear of the dial. Or by sending your watch to a Seiko collector who is also a watchmaker known to service lots of Seiko's, for a service along with this dialog In any case, not once have I seen among all this 'spot the AM dial' misinformation on the web or social media, a simple UV test. After all, if someone replaced the dial (and not the hands and inner rotating bezel, which all have lume on) then we should have some kind of mismatch in glow brightness and fade. Seeing as I currently have 4 6139's, 3 of them with similar mint lume (one slightly patinated), I figured 'what the heck lets do a comparative test'. For your pleasure Note the almost identical nature of the top 3 (dial/hands/inner-bezel)...bottom one is slightly 'patinated'... Here is a little dial info I have gathered : over above the 'resist' then 'proof' changes, there are generally two dial variants characterized by (1 OR 2) - flat top 'A' in 'Japan' OR pointy 'A' in 'Japan' - no serif '1' in '10' sub-register OR serif '1' in '10' sub-register - '6030T' OR '6030R' marking between 4/5 o'clock (and the fact that the 'minute' position of them is different). - slightly different sub-register markings and coloring between these two (i.e. the first variant always seems to have a dark/degraded looking ring on the sub-register lip, with some color hue changes (red), and the other one not (although this one does, albeit very slightly)). - No sub-registers have those inner concentric circles similar to the speedmasters
If I was on the market for a Pogue (which I was not so long ago...) it'd be this one... very very nice. GLWS!
Some nibbles but no bites... Price now includes international registered insured priority shipping. I am looking to break even on this one. The way I see it, finding a 6139 in this condition on eBay (or anywhere else for that matter), plus getting it serviced, plus shipping, puts it higher than I am asking.
