I've never had a longines before, and i saw this on their IG. Asking for 950 pounds, what do you guys think? From the description 1940s Longines ‘Sei Tacche’ manual wind wristwatch Here we have a beautiful 33.5mm (35mm including crown) Longines "Sei Tacche" from the 1940s, with stainless steel screwback case and stepped bezel. The radium applied lume looks to be professionally refinished to an extremely high degree. But the dial fonts appear original, confirmed by a few experts. Blue treated steel pencil handset in great condition. A beautiful watch overall with a strong, clean look. https://www.visionvintagewatches.com/product-page/1940s-longines-sei-tacche
To answer your question, only if the price is right. To me this is too expensive, but other people's opinion will vary.
For 950 pounds I'll send you mine that hasn't been relumed - hell, I'll even throw in a watch for your missus!
I'll add that I accidently wrote "redialed" when I meant "relumed" - I've edited the post now. I don't know if the Longines in the OP has been redialed; it's an earlier issue than mine (which hasn't got a nicely coloured movement ) which probably accounts for the differences in the subdials. Great watches, though I don't understand why the dealer calls it a "stepped bezel" as it is plainly a completely ordinary "one-layer" bezel. Hell, I'll start referring to it as a "plateau bezel" and watch the hype raise the prices
Trying to learn..so if this relumed Longines sei tacche is to expensive, how come this went rather fast ? https://omegaforums.net/threads/vin...i-tacche-black-radium-dial.62557/#post-784044 Although we do not know final price it was offered without a recent service at a higher price than the one op has found on IG.
Far from speculation and present bubble, that watch (33mm only) is worth no more than 400/450 euros if it's all original and serviced. At least I wouldn't spend a cent more
I suspected the black dial had an effect on the price but wondered how special the "special" made it .
This was $300. Not really great example of sei tacche. Got it for parts, but it runs very well. Decided not to scrap it.
Not sure about the tacche, but I'm under the impression that, in the watch world, black dials command a premium 99% of the time...
Black dials show less age. Universally appeals to more people of varing levels of watch knowledge than very subjective patina on nonblack dials. Plus looks more military...need that extra bragging rights. Black dial for most watches have generally been premium as long as I can remember from 30 years ago. Calling them Evil this and that is relatively new. The price differences have grown a bit more extreme though. Exceptions are if white is extemely rare like GMT 6542 in White. Or white Skychiefs. etc. theres a few. I think 6610 is another.
