    hello all!

Looking for some information on a watch I recently inherited from my great, great, grandfather; a very wealthy man from New York im told.
local jewelry store wont open it up because of insurance issues so i cannot get a serial number...yet.
14k Omega Automatic Seamaster De Ville . swiss made written under the 6hr, 14k marking is on the bottom of the clasp on the mesh bracelet.
omega marking on crown. the crystal is a acrylic with slight beveled edge
    the watch weighs 88.5g

not to important but what value does something like this have to the right buyer. not ebay

Looks like a very nice De Ville from the 60s maybe. Being from the US it may be a Norman Morris cased example, but one of our resident experts will be able to give you more info. It would help immensely if you could provide photographs of the inside of the caseback and of the movement.

It would also be a very good idea to get it serviced by a watchmaker (not Omega service centre).

A very nice heirloom to keep the memory of you GGGF alive.

Oh, and pardon my manners

    Welcome to the forum!

    Cheers

    Jim

taking some good shots now post will be updated soon. it was actually somewhat stolen from my family ten years ago, i tracked it down and with a little persuasion got it back, still works perfectly hardly a scratch at all.
