    Hey,

I’m just trying to figure out where to buy a replacement gold second hand for a Seamaster with a cal 552.

    Thanks!

eBay? Surely you wouldn't be breaking the forum's 200 post rule to solicit one here.

Ebay would be the best bet.

You could try search by the reference no on Cousins or Ofrei but they may well no longer be available

This might be a stupid question however I’m completely ignorant to watch parts, but does the second hand need to match the movement and reference number?

Your second must match the length of minute hand , tone color and fits correctly.
So, you should know the caliber and the length of your minute hand to buy the correct one.

Watch hands are considered case parts, not movement parts. Yes they have to be able to fit on the posts of the specific movement used, but matching the case considerations is much more relevant.

So for a case ref. 1650003, yellow gold, the sweep seconds hand option is 066UX1371 - it's 13 mm in length (measured from the center post out to the tip, not the overall length).

Note that answering questions like this is much easier if you post close, clear photos of the watch.

    Cheers, Al

Thank you very much! This is so helpful. I would’ve posted photos however I don’t have any saved on my phone and I can’t take photos at my place of work.
