    That contains an Omega 1040, based on Lemania's 1340.

    the 5100 replaced the 13400 by utilizing plastic parts, correct?

    No, they were produced at the same time. Two completely different designs. I believe Breguet still uses a version of the 1340 for at least one of their watches but I could be wrong.

    Ref. 176.004 AKA "Big Blue" circa 1972-1974. Cal. 1040 (Lemania 1340), which did precede cal. 1045 (Lemania 5100) by a few years in terms of debut, though there was possibly some overlap at the end of the 1040's run. Lemania continued making the 1340/1 long after Omega stopped using it. Omega's first automatic diver's chronograph, and last one until the Bond era ~20 years later.
