Hi Tony Love it !!! here is one that I kept due to the fact it was shipped from Omega on my birthday !! ( not my birth year )...
You bet it is. Note that the example in the ad is a chronometer. There is no model name on the dial. gatorcpa
Here's my one and only RG: Ref. 2517 As featured in a circa 1950 ad: Hey @Bill Sohne, does that band look familiar? gatorcpa
Thank you! It is an aftermarket bracelet, but 18k, and of really excellent quality. It's the second that I have acquired on a vintage Omega, and they're beginning to grow on me.
The gold bracelet on a gold watch head issue is an interesting one. For years, wearing that combination, for many observers, looked as if the owner was trying too hard to advertise his success. This always seems to be the case with a yellow-gold Day-Date, and the corresponding President bracelet. To my eye, presently, it still looks a bit over-done. Yet, your bracelet, and similar, less "chunky" examples (such as the Omega Milanese), have morphed from slightly gaudy to cool and retro.
Is that new? I remember the rest of your Ultima hoard but not that one, black dial, cool dial furniture, the detailed pattern on the facets... that's like like a rarity trifecta on an already rare watch.
Resurrecting this thread with an anachronic detail that I think really works with these 1950's beauties
