Just found this Seamaster 120 with what appears to be a DON Speedy bezel. It's part of an auction and I'm considering what my maximum offer would be. Personally I'm more interested in the 166.027 than the bezel, but how likely is it that I find a nice replacement bezel? Also, could any of you Speedfreaks tell me what the bezel in this condition might fetch?
This does not look like a complete Speedmaster bezel but rather like a speedmaster bezel insert somehow fixed on top of a rotating diver bezel basis.
It's certainly not a Moonwatch bezel because such a bezel is way too large to to fit this smaller sm120. Make no sense to configure a tachy bezel on a watch without a chrono. Original sm120 bezels, in good condition, are hard to come by. I would avoid this watch and just get a correct 165/166.027 elsewhere. Good luck.
I have seen a Tissot chrono with a DON bezel, which is obviously much smaller than a Speedmaster. I think that's what this is. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=t...p0rGDM:;QAHCpFE-XTePrM:&imgrc=5RE4172Bp0rGDM:
Thanks a lot guys! I was considering it when I thought it might just be a complete Speedy bezel on a 120 (sell the bezel, use funds to acquire correct bezel). Having no experience with speedies, I totally missed the fact that it is not a complete bezel (or likely even a Speedmaster bezel at all). Yeah, I'll skip this (or maybe make a really low maximum offer for the hell of it). Again, thanks for protecting me from a mistake!
