Hello all, I just became the owner of a Omega Seamaster 120 M Multifunction. 2521.81.00 https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-120-m-multifunction-25218100 And unfortunately the LCD is busted on it as is the movement. I was wondering if anyone knows where one could be sourced? I know there is the ETA988.432 that fits it as well, but I want the Omega logo on it.
Thats what I was worried about. I spoke with them already and they are willing to send a courier out to pick it up, but I was wondering if there are any other ways.
Nice watch, I have had a couple and still use one as a grab and go travel watch. They have most of the features of the X33 but look more conventional, just like a SM120m in fact. Operation soley off the crown is a bit fiddly though, vs the X33 pushers and crown combo. Omega wont be a remotely cheap option. They routinely change that movement out at service time so a broken one will be treated the same as any other service. The current price in GBP for a quartz chrono is £450, which is maybe 75% of the value of the watch when working. If you can source an ETA movement then maybe you can swap the just screens over or if not I would use that since it will be several hundred cheaper to do it that way. BTW the movement spec changed and extra features were added, Omega now fit the 1665C which adds an extra chrono feature and a couple of other tweaks over the original 1665A. Here is a link showing the differences between A and B spec, they now fit C but I don't know what extra if anything that adds. Mine is C but appears the same as the B explained here. https://watchguy.co.uk/technical/Omega/1048_Omega 1665 total.pdf
ps I note that on the Omega data sheet, it has the ETA code 988.431, not 432 you show above, though this variation may correspond with the A,B,C versions I mentioned.
Padders. I found a movement for 200 dollars. It is the ETA 988.432 http://calibercorner.com/eta-caliber-988-432/ It looks a lot like my 1665 movement as the 431 I have found recently look completely different.
Well, finally got it in works great, looks great. Now just need someone to do the lettering on the screen. Even when I was looking at factory Omega screens they were all black with no lettering.
