I bought a ladies steel watch from a local pawn shop. As my first purchase for my collection. It was listed as 1978 automatic ladies watch. It was £140 so thought it was a good starter watch. I was wanting information on it. So I can develop knowledge. I am new and would like guidance for the experts

Your watch is an Omega Seamaster automatic woman's watch from 1978. I was originally sold in the UK and is worth £140 on a good day.
    It requires service.

It seems to keep time ok. The steel seems in good order. What work does it require? Was it a decent first purchase? Thank you

Looks like the date only version of my 166.0216 with a 1020 caliber (will probably difffer in the last digit I guess):

A service is always recommended if the history is unknown.

Well it is a woman's watch so the questions are: Are you woman? Do you like small watches? Are you planning to wear it ? Do you like it?

Hello yes I am a woman. It’s a perfect size for me. Yes I do love it. I have a Cartier Pasha that I find to big. So I can see myself wearing this a lot. I thought to myself a £140 is not too much to lose on my first omega. Love omegas now. What should I look for when buying vintage watches?as this is my first
