Seamaster Suggestions

Hi Team

I am new to this Forum but own several new Seamasters. I have promised my son a vintage Seamaster as a post-grad present (he deserves it having secured a First with Distinction). I am thinking around a modest $1-2k purchase but would really welcome suggestions on the particular models that you would look for if you were in my position and perhaps what to avoid.
Regards
Hamish

I mean, this is a purely personal decision and I mean this in nothing but good faith… but why buy the young man a vintage Seamaster to begin with?

He’d probably be better off with a used+modern Longines or Tag Heuer at that price point. Just something to think about, unless he likes 70s-80s era watches.

This is the modern Omega forum, so I'm not sure what type of watch the OP is really considering. Maybe something pre-owned but not really vintage? Perhaps they can post some photos of potential purchases. The original question is really far too broad to answer. Seamasters have been made since the late 1940s and the variations are almost endless.

Thank you for your comments. He is 28 and like very much likes the older classic Seamasters after having viewed many watches on Chrono24.
Apologies for posting on the wrong thread.
