Seamaster smp300 rubber strap buckle

Noob question, is there a way to remove the buckle from the strap?

context: need to buy a shorter strap, and wondering if i can reuse the buckle from the original strap

Omega sells the strap and buckle separately, so I believe this is something you can do.
