    Hi all,

    I’m not sure which model seamaster this is (how do I check? I’ve got all documents etc). I still enjoy wearing the watch but the bracelet is beginning to look a little dated in my opinion and I’d like to try something more modern.

    Can anyone tell me whether any of the newer bracelets will fit this particular watch? Something like I’ve got on the Speedmasters below would be nice...

    A worthy experiment! You have all the parts to try it yourself. I’m sure there are many who would like to see your results.

    1610/930 is the other version. Not sure which model you have whether it would fit.

    Thanks both. Bama2141 I don’t have the tools (or knowledge) required to remove a bracelet unfortunately. I was hoping someone would know the answer already ;)

    Looks like you have a 41mm quartz Seamaster. As one of the posters said, the 1610/930 bracelet should fit, otherwise the bracelet from the Speedy in your second picture might fit as well.....

    Removing the bracelet is reasonably easy If you have the right tools. If not, a local watch maker should be able to it in a couple of minutes.

    Cheers

    Thanks everyone.

    Jeelan- thank you, no I’ve never done it before and wouldn’t know where to start. Are there any tools that I need to do this (a link to an amazon or eBay product would be ideal). Also if there are any “how to” links or videos out there I’d be happy to have a go if I felt confident.

    Thank you Brownwld / VetPsychWars - This would be perfect, a nice modern update for the watch. Looks great on the modern SeaMaster. Is it possible to buy these from the Omega website? Or anywhere else? I’m guessing it’s not worth trying to get a second hand one?

    You’re better off doing an *Bay or Chrono24 search on the bracelet and getting second hand one. New from Omega will be quite expensive. It’s been a while since i purchased a bracelet, but i think they are around US$300-500 depending on condition etc...

    As far as tools go I’d recommend something like this..

    https://www.amazon.com/Pukido-Sprin...eywords=Spring+bar+tool&qid=1586257733&sr=8-8

    Here’s a YouTube video on replacing a strap / bracelet

    Don’t let me stop you from trying, but I don’t think the speedy bracelet is a straight swap. I tried switching the bracelets on these two when they were still mine, and found that the end links weren’t compatible.

    Hi Tom,
    What's the taper on the 1610 /930 please? I guess it's 20mm at the lug but how wide is it at the clasp?

    @VetPsychWars,

    No dramas, I think this has been answered on the other 2254 thread.

    Clasp link is 18mm. I was wrong.

    The end link on the 1998 is either 840 or 849 for the moonwatch. Clasp is also different. 1610/930 is the better choice.

    Thanks for checking. I think I'm going to stick with the 1610/930. Funny, I always thought 20 to 16mm was too much of a taper until I got a Datejust & now it looks great. The 2254 is a firm favourite though so I'll leave it as standard.
    Thanks again.

    Speedy bracelet doesn’t fit but I have the 1610 on mine. I tend to wear it with a mesh more though so was considering selling the bracelet. Not totally decided yet but drop me a PM if you would be interested.

    Thanks everyone. I’ve just bought a NATO strap from the Omega website ready for the summer. This one below. £130 inc delivery and it should arrive tomorrow. I’ve gone for this one;

    That's a great look. Slightly OT but has anyone tried that on the 2018 wave dial SMP as well?

    Pretty sure they changed the lugs and it doesn’t fit :(
