First off, we have a Seamaster Pie-pan 18K dial (non stepped 2849, the most common version) in an 18K Constellation case, with a Constellation crown, and a Cal 504 chronometer movement instead of the correct Cal 503, on a gold-plated beads of rice bracelet...

This is just a waste of good parts.

And antiquorum's grading of it is as follows:

Case
DETAILS 3 Good
DETAILS 9 Scratched
Dial
DETAILS 3 Good
HANDS 01 Original
Movement
DETAILS 2* Very good (overhaul recommended, at buyer's expense)
Experts' Overall Opinion
OVERALL OPINION very good

Its like that crappy Seamaster Cloisonne they tried to flog recently: http://omegaforums.net/threads/antiquorum-another-neptune-seamaster-cloisonne.2576/

They are getting worse, if that is possible.

Its mind boggling that they're running an auction house for vintage watches and don't know the difference between a Seamaster and a Constellation, or can't see that this is a cobbled together combination of a wrecked Cal 504 Deluxe (bad enough to see) and a wrecked Cal 503 SMPP (Even worse).

They're not even willing to do a cursory google search to find Desmond's blog, this website's many discussions on these watches, or to even check the case numbers as to whether they match up, before putting their name behind this sale and certifying it as "very good" and original in their condition report.

Its just plain weak.

I think the qualification to be one of their associate experts is to have a very nice suit and wear a nice watch, probably a Patek. Hell I could do that. 🙄

As I mentioned before, those auction houses should outsource their filtering to mods of this forum for several brand (Vintage Omega obviously, Zenith and Longines may also be candidate).

Or probably Mike has better idea on setting Omegaforum online auction house?............
I will support the idea....👍

I will be at that auction and would love to see the person they try and ripe off when I'll give them a little light on their piece...

George, they'll just list it again at a later date if the buyer balks, or maybe they'll sell it another way. I used to use AQ as a database until I found out how many substandard and incorrect watches they move.

Such poor antics. I believe we should start a database here lol I think I'm going to order AJTT to have some better reference.

Give us some time, we're continuously working on various aspects of OF, and we have a lot planned.

Trev and I actually have a development meeting tomorrow to discuss some major new features we've got in the pipeline concerning buyer's resources and pre-purchase information to try to streamline and deal with a lot of the questions that come up repeatedly here, and that's just one of the projects we're working on.
