·Dear all,
I live in the Bruges area in Belgium. Unfortunately we had some unwanted visitors this Christmas who effectively cleared our house of anything valuable (even t shirts, coats, all hand bags etc)... Aside from my wife's jewellery and family heirlooms, my seamaster NYC boutique edition (nr 206/399 - my birthday is 20th of june) was stolen. We bought it together on our honeymoon in NYC and next to its monetary value it holds great sentimental value.
And it was just a stunning watch, I loved it. My wife's constellation gifted to her for her 18th birthday was also stolen, with inscription "Justine 18" engraved on the back.
I highly doubt the police will find anything, but since it is a very specific and numbered timepiece and also rare in europe since its NY boutique edition only and one of 399, I thought I'd ask here what steps I can take myself - for example if it would be offered to a watch dealer or jeweller. Only one is currently for sale on chrono24.
Mine was on a beige nubuck strap by Moleskin. I still have the original black alligator strap.
I have to add: the thieves left the box and papers on the kitchen table, but that only makes me think they are going to wear it themselves instead of trying to sell it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Creating this will at least make it known it is stolen to anyone googling it.
FYI: they did steal the box and papers of my rolex submariner, but not the watch since I was wearing it that night. Doesn't really make sense to me. Anything I should do with that?
