    Guys,

I'm thinking about buying this particular piece:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Amazing-OMEG...rmbanduhren&hash=item1e76eb0463#ht_500wt_1414Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

It looks really good being a watch from 1959,. there is just a thing I noticed, the 'ring' is gold but the lugs are steel, could anyone tell me if this is genuine? I have the feeling it's not

    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Christian

All three have refinished dials and have worn and over polished cases.

    I would pass.

Are they really that bad? I can understand if a 40-50yr old watch needs some kind of refinishment, or am I wrong?

Many watches posted in this thread are more than 50 years old but they are all original and not refinished. Have a look.:)

The thing is Omega made millions of them originally, so while many have been refinished, there are heaps that have been well kept and are original. There are hundreds of watches 50 years and over on this website that look very clean or even mint condition, and you deserve that when you're spending your money rather than a lemon that's been polished up for sale.

To a collector, yes. Refinished dials that aren't true to original are passed on immediately.

You can make up your own mind about how bad they are (or not). But the very concrete consequence of a redial is a big drop in the value of the watch should you ever decide to sell it.
