Seems I have a thing for tuning fork watches. I guess I just like the technology behind the movement and that strange hum. So this dial looks ok? I am still a novice at this, it looked ok to me. Should have the watch in a few days to check the rest of it out.
198.005. One of the more desirable hummers, worth maybe double the run of the mill options, I had one. The bezels can get chewed up on those and can't be replaced so check that. Some black Omega dials of this era bubble terribly so check for that too. Otherwise it looks fine.check that the date ticks over every day as often, like over half the time the plastic date indicator wheels on 1250 movements lose teeth and won't advance without some manual assistance. A new wheel is hard but not impossible to find. If you haven't already seen it, see this for info; http://www.deskdivers.com/Site/SMf300.html Here was my silver dial variant:
Thank you padders for a great link. I was originally worried because most of the seamaster F300's I saw had the applied markers. Turns out that the black dial is the only one that does not have applied markers and is printed. Second slight issue for me was the crown looked to big but I see compared to others it looks the same. Thanks to this forum I really try and scrutinize my purchases. Problem is that I know enough to know I don't know enough.
Here is mine incl the original booklet and Tag. Sometimes think of selling it, but If you see what you receive for them i keep him
