Calling on the experts. Please help me identify the following Seamaster, which bears case number 14701-1 with caliber 562 movement and mid-60's serial number. Though I've found references to a 14701-1 Seamaster calendar with SS or gold dial and matching furniture, I've been unable to find a reliable reference for this black dial and Arabic numerals. Is this example a franken, macking the recent interest in vintage Railmaster look-alikes?

    Or could it be authentic?

Redial. Generic hands. Case has been worked on. Wrong crown

Thanks Marturx -- What details tip you off to the redial? Sorry about the low-res image.

Thank you X350 XJR. The seller asserts the dial is original and correct, which of course, causes concern.

Usually see these dial styles coming out of India, which are notorious for redials. If the seller is not from India, I would bet that he bought it from there and found out what he got and is now trying to cover his losses.
