Hi everyone,

I have this watch, it has been sitting in a drawer for more than 30 years. The watch does not run. Omega would charge EUR 2000 for a complete revision, but the watch is not worth it.

It may seem as an offense to watch enthusiasts, but I would like to know if you can replace the broken calib 1260 with a quartz clockwork. So at least I can use the watch with the nice case.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Alex

Try an independent shop with experience in these F300 tuning fork models. You don’t say what efforts you have made regarding repairing it, other than speaking with Omega. Tell us where you live and perhaps we can recommend a shop. The answer re: converting it to quartz is simple. NO!

I had it checked at an independent watch shop, they cannot fix it. Maybe you can recommend someone in the Munich area?
If quartz does not work, are there automatic clockworks which may fit?

Not a lot of shops will work on these tuning fork F300 Omega movements. Perhaps someone may be able to recommend someone in or near Munich. Give up the notion you are going to convert this watch to quartz or mechanical. Perhaps a donor watch might be found, somewhere, if this one really can’t be fixed. Keep asking for options. Someone might just offer a solution.
