    Hi All,

So I think I may have an issue with my watch and it's power reserve. I wear the watch for about 10-12 hours per day and then when I leave it on my bedside table the power reserve only lasts about 12-14 hours. Is this normal or should I be sending the watch back for repair?

Not normal... power reserve on this model is 55 hours. I've definitely gone 36 hours in the couple weeks I've had it.

If you have fully wound it up (perhaps 30 turns of the crown) and it last 14hrs then somethings wrong.

Definitely something wrong. I sent that watch back to where I bought it (it's preowned - bought new in Jan 2017) and they put it in a watch winder and opened it up and relubed everything but couldn't find an issue. They're adamant that nothing is wrong but like you said, if it's only lasting 14 hours then there's an issue somewhere.

Have you asked them how long the power reserve lasted under their test conditions?

I did not. But if they give me any issues then I will ask them that for sure.

Oh... one correction, I incorrectly assumed you bought the new 2018 Seamaster Diver, with the calibre 8800 movement - that has a 55 hour power reserve... I'm not sure what older models spec out as... but either way, it should be way more than you are seeing.

    ^^ This

If you’re just giving it a shake and then wearing it through the day I would expect short power reserve.

Give it a good wind as above, set the time to 12.00 midnight, so the date flips over and then leave it alone. Record the stop time. It should last at least 36 hours and probably more like 55 as stated above
