Hi, I've just got my watch back from having a service and have been told the dial has slight water damage I noticed it before it went in for the service although it only appeared not long after buying it (or I may not have noticed it right away). It's really noticable now I know about it, and annoying. Is there anything that can be done to get rid of it??? Here's some pictures. It's just near the two marker.
I can't see it in the pictures, so must not be too bad. It's sometimes possible to clean these types of stains, but it's always a gamble. Use the wrong chemical and all the printing could come off and cause greater damage. In this case, probably not worth the risk. Looks like a vintage watch should, gatorcpa
I wouldn't worry about it. If you want perfection, buy a brand new watch - and most of them aren't perfect when you use a loupe anyway.
Thanks all, much appreciated It's only noticable in certain light, so will take the advice given and leave well alone!
Sometimes imperfection gives vintage watch character..........differentiate them with new watch. Too perfect vintage watch makes me worry.
