Dear All
I am looking for some help and advice ?
My father bought this watch in 1972 as you can see from the guarantee card ,it is in pretty good condition as you can see from the pictures .
The problem it has been handed down to me from my father who is no longer with us .
I would actually like to get a reasonable price for the watch ,as it is of sentimental value ,I would like the money to get a memorial for my father at some point .
I have been in contact with a few watch buyers via the internet and some are not even interested .
I think it is a lovely watch and it has a gold or gold plated bracelet ,I am not sure to be honest .
Please can someone point me in the right direction of who may be interested in this kind of time piece ?
I am not even 100% sure of the model number as I do not want to take the back off the watch .
I dont know its value really ,so I would not want to put it on Ebay ,I suppose it is a little bit of supply and demand .
Photos attached for ref .

Much sharper photos will be needed, preferably of the movement as well. Judging from the card and the fuzzy dial image it looks like a Ref. 166.5020 - came across a 9ct solid gold cased one looking for something else a while ago, but no idea if that was the standard for that ref - just happened to have the page on it bookmarked.

It's certainly not worthless, but you'll need to have a proper watchmaker look at the movement before going too far on valuation - that's my advice.

If I can ask, are you in England yourself? There are some excellent folks for vintage Omega work around, depending on where.

I wouldn't go to a watchmaker unless it’s not working anymore. If you want to sell it, sell it as is. It’s a frontloader so you can not open the watch yourself. I would remove that bracelet and attache a good quality leather strap. After that take really good en sharp pictures. With box and papers (and running) you could fetch between eur 600 and 850. You do not have privilege to sell it here. You need 200 post for that. You can sell it without pictures of the inside. Hope this helps.

Oh sorry. I'm on my phone and I thought the case was SS. Is it gold?

Can you turn on the lights and take more photos? 😁

Being on a computer doesn't help. My only hint was that the OP mentioned the bracelet is gold-plated. Watch could be gold, gold-plated, or SS as far as I an tell from the photos. Obviously the material affects the value greatly.

I think BL case reference stands for 9ct rose gold.
So likely a british made case, given the date possibly Shackman ?

Nice watch, one owner, box and papers are a bonus.
Just check that there are no hidden hallmarks on the bracelet.
If the bracelet matches the watch colour, sell it altogether - someone might like it.
