    Hi all.

I've recently inherited a 1969/70 automatic Seamaster De Ville. The problem is, the day date (1-2-3.....31) does not change after midnight nor does it change after winding the fingers over a 24 hour rotation. The watch has sentimental meaning. Is it going to cost big £££ for a repair?

:) Daz, there's a couple of subtle clues that suggest you might be a Brit. As the watch presumably has some significant sentimental value, I'd suggest finding a independent watchmaker and probably paying around £120 for a service. Although its possible this would solve the date change issue I suspect you may need something like a date change wheel replacing at somewhere in the region of £70. Do it now, as late next year, omega are shutting down parts supply to most independents.

If you send it back to omega it will cost 2-3x this cost.

Although you could just ignore the date window, I'd suggest it would nag away at you, but also after 45 years faithful service the poor thing deserves some attention.
