    Hi all,

I came across this. Other than the spot at 11, I noticed two funny things:

    - Although it doesn't scream redial to me (but then again, what do I know...), the "S" is funny. Shouldn't it be a more modern "S"?
    - I've never seen this red second hand before. Is it legit?

I know the photo is not so great, but I'd very much appreciate any thoughts.

    Cheers,

    Paulo

Although the majority of these I've seen had the more rounded "S", I have seen a number with original dials and a similar shaped S. I believe the dial is original. The sweep seconds hand however is not likely to be original. It should be the same color as the hour and minute hands.

It should also be the right length . . . ;)

The second hand is too short as pointed out above by John. You do see that coat hanger S now & again on SMDV dials, usually the earlier ones.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll be passing it. The idea of getting hands changed on a frontloader does seem a bit too daring plus there's the spot right above 11.

Changing the hand would be a simple operation. The spot might represent a more significant underlying issue..
