    Hi,

I'm struggling to access the movement on my 60's Seamaster de Ville.. I think its due to the crown being ever so slightly bent which isn't allowing it to open up.

How do you try to open it? What tools do you have?

Is it a one piece case with a split winding stem?

Hi guys, yes it is a one piece, but when the crown is in the winding position it just doesn't come any further, I have the tool that pushes the stem in once the crown is off but I can't get the crown off.

Yes, it can be a bit intimidating for the novice. If you don't feel comfortable take it to a professional.

    Did you mean MD-88? ;)

Also, if 'no joy' regarding fencing pliers...shoot it open with your heater.
