Seamaster De Ville Selling Advice

Hello all.

I have my father's Seamaster De Ville which from looking at the "ultimate" thread, I have determined it to be an early version with linen face with a cross-hair design. I am thinking that the bracelet isn't original. Please correct me if i am wrong!

I am looking to sell so am wondering what the correct reference should be and where are the best places to sell. It's an automatic and working fine but should i get it serviced before selling?

Thanks in advance.

Dial looks refinished, but hard to tell with a sh*tty image.

Gold filled or gold? Check out eBay and look at completed auctions to value

Let the buyer service it

Last. Remove the bracelet and add a leather band

Thanks for your reply. I'll sort a leather strap as you suggest. A couple of better images included below - which make it look in terrible condition, which it is not! 馃槃

Is having a refinished dial a good thing or a bad one?

Dial looks ok to me see what others think.
Is there gold hallmark on one lug? Photo blurry.
Take focused photos of front and back. Can鈥檛 tell from this if it鈥檚 gold fillled or solid gold. Look for markings on Caseback or between lugs. If you bc want to optimize return learn how to make much better watch photographs.

A refinished dial is a bad thing in terms of both collectability and value but your new picture shows the dial is original.

With the high price of gold at the moment, the value will depend greatly on the case material. Remove the bracelet and look closely for any markings between the lugs.
