I am trying to get an understanding of value of a watch like this before investing in repairs. It has sentimental value since this is a watch my father received in 1983 for 25 years with a company. It is stamped 14k gold and the movement but not sure of the model number because I can’t find anything that appears similar. A pie face on a Seamaster De ville? Any insight on model value would be appreciate

Your watch is Reference 196.0120.

Sorry, but this one is an oddball so finding much information is unlikely.

Please remove the bracelet as the spring loaded ends can damage the inside of the lugs.

In good running order & in original condition probably in the range of $200 - $400US. Yours does not appear to have the original bracelet, but the insignia on the flexi-band may hold its own family significance.

Recent eBay sales

If you're planning on keeping it, then it may be that the resale value is less of a consideration.

Others can offer their thoughts on the dial printing, but with cell phone optics & digital image compression it's often hard to get a true sense of what the dial really looks like in the flesh. There does not appear to be any "Swiss Made" make along the bottom, which suggests re-dial to me.

Thanks, I know this is the way he received it new, he did not have anything done to i- he would not spend the money.
The band was put on by the company, their logo, so I know the band is not anything standard.
Company may have bought in bulk in the 70’s and pulled them from the shelf to give to employees years later ?

It would have significant gold scrap value and with that snazzy looking dial I would have it fixed for sure. Plus you got the sentimental factor. Nice looking watch for sure especially when you remove that eye-sore stretchy band.

Yes will likely repair and replace that band. It also appears the V 388 battery is discontinued so have to get an adapter to make a 329 work.

I have a similar (gold plated) quartz Seamaster. Not overly sought after but pretty cool designs with the pie pan dials.
