Hi All,

looking for any insight into my watch, this Seamaster De Ville.

I am particularly interested in the stamping on the back - which reads:

“in appreciation of 21 years of service 18.10.48 - 17.10.69 J Robbins. Smith & Davis Ltd”

Many thanks in advance

No military connection whatsoever.

It's simply a company presentation watch.

The model/reference details are inside the front opening case which will require a competent watchmaker to access.

No doubt some of our members will be able to give you an accurate description of the model reference/year etc.

Hi and welcome,

Is this a watch that originated in the uk? Why do you think it has a military connection?

I ask because i grew up in an industrial area of the west Midlands near Birmingham (the "Black Country"). There was a company nearby called Smith and Davis ltd. that was a metalworks producing hinges and the like.

Could this just be a long service presentation watch for a loyal employee?
