New to the forum, and a De Ville fan. Just purchased a solid gold 14K, 17J 563 and when received it had a crystal in the back which is both very interesting to see the movement as well as concerning since it means less actual gold content, wondering what experts think of this. Is it a total negative, value reduction, other thoughts.

It was not mis-represented I just did not understand what "crystal on front and back" meant, and the picture does not really show it. Many other ebay sellers have pics with back panel off I assumed that's what the image showed. Watch seems to be working fine.

    Appreciated in advance!

    Nothing to be concerned about.

    Just Google "Omega Kleer-back".

    Heaps of info for you.

No you didn't. It clearly is stamped 14K gold filled between the lugs. So if it was represented as solid gold it was misrepresented.

It's very hard to read so i need to get a loupe and make sure,

A couple of points: 1. I've never seen one of these actually marked when not solid gold, 2. the GF models usually don't have gold ring and internals (at least the ones I have). Of course possible there are variations I'm not aware of.

As the Klear-back was a USA concoction of Norman Morris it is quite likely GF
