Put it on eBay as a Seamaster Cosmic in vintage condition with freshly cleaned movement and no reserve, and let it run. However, I would drain the water out before photos.

That is so so sad. My washer has claimed chapstick, gum, headphones, receipts, cash(but it survived) and much more. But no watches yet.

I try to keep mine on my wrist. Keeps the chances of it ending up in the washer to a minimum.

I just recently spend an hour removing chunks and slathers of rosin (used on violin bows) from my wife's dryer! The rosin was in the right pocket of a western shirt, and she didn't think to look for that second pocket. You might be smart to take it somewhere and have it dryed out, even if you don't plan of doing the whole job. I hope the guy who, in another thread, recently asked about swimming with his Speedmaster on his wrist, sees your post!

The picture reminds me of one of Victor Borge's comments "this watch is waterproof - never have I seen a drop of water come out of it"

Hope you get it fixed up quickly.

I guess you're going to strip it down and dry it out as best you can....

I'm just glad it wasn't in your dryer!

    :D

It's hard to imagine the mess that melted rosin would make in a closed tumbler like that. Hopefully your clothes won't have that strange fragrance in the future.

If by fine you mean a mildly damp bucket of rice and rusty watch, you are correct!

That was such a dumb show and yet that scene is probably one of my favorite minutes of television
