On the seamaster I got new from an AD about a month ago, I noticed the push button on the clasp felt a little “sticky” sometimes. I thought maybe it was just new and stiff. Today when I went to take it off the push button stayed completely stuck in the depressed position. You can see the left button stuck in the attached pictures. What would you recommend?

This is a known issue and if you go back to the AD, they will remedy it.

The remedy will be to send back to Omega for servicing. And from what others have experienced, they will want the entire watch back for the service, not just the bracelet. Unfortunate, but that is what the warranty is for.

I noticed the Seamaster bracelets work best after having been taken into the sea a couple of times (no joke). Wears al the parts in perfectly, gets rids of the "stickyness" and makes the micro adjust slide more easily.

I was going to suggest running it under hot water with a little soap in there.

You can literally wash your 300m Seamaster Professional in the sink with a scrub-brush and soap however often you like (check the seals every so often). I do that to mine and it comes out looking brand-new and I never get any issues with the bracelet, either.

Welp. The other push button is now stuck and the clasp is impossible to open. On the plus side it’s not on me. On the negative side I bought from an AD but not a local AD. This just really stinks with a new watch and my first experience with Omega. Does anyone have a remedy for this??

Take it to the nearest AD, or boutique, doesn't have to be the one you bought from. Bring your warranty info. Or just mail it in to the service center, I expect that's what the dealer will do when they take it in for you.

Dawn dish detergent and warm-to-hot water. Wiggle it around some. :)

That's only if it's gunked up though, and a new watch should not be. But worth a try before you send it in.

Shouldn’t be gunked (and doesn’t feel gunked). It’s been worn fairly delicately for less than a month. But I’ll give it a try. They feel completely frozen.

This isn’t a problem with gunk in the mechanism, it’s a problem with one of the springs and is a known defect in these bracelets. You can try all these proposed solutions (soaking in hot water or the ocean (!), etc) and it likely won’t do anything. It won’t hurt to try, but you need to resign yourself to sending it in for a warranty repair.

Thanks. That’s what it feels like to me too. Stinks though.

I have no idea what a “pikey” is, but I’m reasonably certain that I am one.

I think Pikey is a traveller or some kind of british gipsy. No ekspert but I saw the movie "Snatch".
    Good luck with the clasp!

It’s a good thing it wasn’t on wrist. You’d have to have an Omega salesperson resize the bracelet (remove a link) to get it off. Try some WD40, could help.

As already noted, the clasp needs to be replaced, so take it to Omega.
