First time posting here but would welcome some feedback on a recent purchase and get guidance on the dial and caseback in particular. This this is a cal 344, the caseback is concerning because it does not say seamaster or any other markings I've noticed on similar watches. The dial looks nice and script looks really good from what I can see no reluming. The minute has a slight dent Also noticed no sign on the crystal is that correct for this early 50's watch?

Thanks for the help

Hi,

and welcome to OF

a short assessment:

dial looks very good
movement looks clean
it looks as if the case has some corrosion at the rim where the back joins - this may cause problems with water tightness
the case looks over-polished
the lack of inscription on the back is caused by extensive polishing
the lack of the Omega symbol on the crystal is due to a replacement of the crystal

regards

There are plenty of examples of those casebacks without "waterproof" or any other words. None of the contemporary 2627 Seamasters I've had did, for example.

without words - senza parole

Thanks for the photo. This is what I was looking for.

Thanks for the assessment. What would a crystal replacement run me back? I picked it up at a local watchmaker. The fact the crystal wasnt signed was one of the reasons I was able to negotiate to a price I thought was fair.

Thanks, I have seen a few without but am wondering if that is how this 2576 originally came. I was fearful that it was polished out.
