My Father owned a Seamaster Chronostop 145.008 Jumbo Diver from new and passed it to me when I was 16. I cherished it for 20 years until it was destroyed in a fire. It was another 15 years before I was in a position to find and buy a replacement that would do justice to my old watch. After a long, long, time searching the interweb I actually finally found this beauty in a family run jewellers in my home town and decided it must be fate. I bought the watch on the spot. The sunburst brushed finish is unfortunately gone as are the lumis, but everything else is beautiful and just as I remember. Signed crystal and 1184 bracelet with 625 end links. Here's my question though: Dad's watch came on a lovely deep blue leather strap and I was a bit disappointed not to be able to find another. That being said, I wondered if anyone would be able to tell me anything about the 1184 bracelet, such as is it likely to be original to the 145.008? Have added some pics, excuse the poor quality of my iPhone cam. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

I have one of these, mine came on a blue leather strap. I have seen them on 1171 bracelet, which I believe, without being 100% sure was the original bracelet . I have seen them with with 1161bracelets too. I actually bought an 1161 bracelet for mine but decided I liked the strap better. Recently I bought a replacement red leather strap for it. While yours may or may not be original to the watch, it looks period correct so if you are planning on keeping it then I would not worry too much about it. Here is a picture of my watch. I had a new crystal inserted and a service. Below is a picture of the red strap I bought for it. It is one of my favourite watches to wear, very comfortable.

Thanks for the info, yours looks great on the blue strap. I'm more than happy with the bracelet and won't be parting with the watch in any circumstance - in fact I won't be letting this one out of my sight. Still interested to know if anyone can shed any more light on the 1184 though. Any comments on the originality or otherwise of the watch itself from the pics would also be very welcome as Im no expert and let my heart rule my head to some extent when I found this one.

Original bracelet are 1170/625 and 1117/549.
1184 is a rare bracelet, similar to 1170 that was produced around 1973 and replaced 1170 on some watches.
It was probably original to this watch.

Thanks Baz, I completely agree. Absolutely love this watch. UWS thank you for that info, very much appreciated and always nice to hear that something cherished is also rare. Are we talking rare as in should be insured and kept safe? I only ask because I'm presently wearing it daily, with all the associated risks of it getting knocked / scratched etc

Omega Seamaster Chronostop Jumbo, Ref. 145.008 Cal. 865 on 1184 Bracelet, (1968)
A rare Omega timepiece with inner rotating bezel mounted.
Everything is original to the watch 100%.
The case is stainless steel, heavily used, with marks / marks and hairline scratches, but has not been polished.
The original dial is unrestored with minor signs. The tiny white spots that you see are the dust on the glass. Minor alterations on white ring. Also some digits on the inner bezel have been partially erased.
Hands, crowns, pushers, are all original in good condition.
The bracelet is the 1184 with end links 625. It is in very good condition with all the links. The total circumference of the watch and bracelet is approx. 21.00cm, (8.25 inches).
All functions, including the inner bezel, are working very well.
