hi all, I have recently acquired a 1967 seamaster chronostop .watch runs great but I have noticed that the 865 movement is a little loose in the case.removing the back I found the movement clamps are tight .should this model have a dust cover over the movement?.would that being missing let the movement move .the spacer ring is in place.any help would be most appreciated,cheers..greasemonkey

The movement should be held in place by the case clamps which locate against the inside of the case, maybe these are not located correctly?

If you have a picture of it then it may help

No dust cover on any of the ones I have seen. Must be a matter of incorrect location of case clamps.

hi,thanks for your replies, please see photo in previous post.the movement clamps hold it tight to the brass outer spacer, its the spacer that moves.its seems as it needs something to take up the space between the back of the case and the movement.

Please see the picture below. Seems the clamps are missing all together on your watch (picture "borrowed" from the net).
You need two of parts: Case Clamp, Omega 865 1911.

The metal clamps should pass over the cut outs in the movement spacer and then push out in to the grooves in the case.If the clamps as too short or bent then they wouldnt touch the case.
