Here today for sale I have a lovely and seldom seen waffle dialed Seamaster Chronometre ref 2518. This one has had a service from my watchmaker 6 months ago and so is in excellent working order.

The 2518 is a great reference as it houses the low production bumper calibre 343RG, notable as the very first sub-seconds Seamaster chronometer, produced in pretty low numbers and introduced in 1948. Total production figures for the cal 343 were 5000 of which there are probably not all that many left.

The off white waffle dial has shark's tooth markers and quarter arabics, it is in good shape with a light and even patina.

The heavy 18kt screw back double ref 2676 2518 case is the classic 34mm beefy lug Seamaster case and in very good condition, with a nice flat bezel, signed crown and pin holes in the lugs for quick and handy strap changes :)

The luxury finish cal 343RG is winding, setting and running very well. As I mentioned it has had a service by my watchmaker 6 months ago and as such is technically in excellent shape. This one has a 12.1 million serial number dating it to approximately 1950.

Overall a very nice example of quite an elusive watch, serviced and ready to go! I'm selling head only but can include a matching black or brown leather strap if required.

@cristos71 looks like the one you bought with my help at à French auction a few years ago. Right?
    Congrats anyway!
