    Hi

So I quite like the overall look of this....and the splash of colour of that second hand....2627 in 18k with a 12mill 353 movement....but what do I know :whipped:

Wayne has posted this watch as a counterfeit/franken item, I don't know why because these gold 2627 come in both 14k and 18k versions as here. The caseback markings are all legit and the case number and movement numbers are correct for the date, as is the cal 353 movement. The guilloche dial seem to be original and unrestored. One caveat I notice is that the rotor bearings are worn and the rotor has been scraping the inside of the case. The price seems rather high, too.

Probably just confusion relating to the piepan dialed 2627 franken thread, 18K is fine for a 2627 just not for a piepan dialed Seamaster.

    Thanks for the reply....

Considering the wear & general condition , any idea what sort of price bracket these generally change hands privately for ? $2k > $2.5k ?

Neil, yes that would be about right. But if you are in the UK, then as this is an American watch, you have to take the 20% VAT on import into account as well. So this one ends up being rather pricey and you are into very nice gold Constellation territory.

Yup, I sure did and thanks for pointing it out. I should have noticed that myself as I was looking right at it in the Bible. Thanks for catching me.
