First time omega owner here. This is an odd sounding question, and I feel pretty stupid for asking it, but is it normal for the day to start changing at around 10:00 pm to the same exact day?

here's an example: Sunday at 10:00 pm it will start changing to Sunday again, Then at midnight it will flip over immediately to Monday. It does this for every day of the week, is there any reason it has two of every day of the week?

Are the days of the week in the same language?

Yes, it would be one day of the week in English and one in American.

Thank you! I've never had a watch with the day on it so this was completely new to me.

    A serious answer this time.

Some day/date watches have two different languages, say Spanish and English and the user or watchmaker can choose the language. For some reason others only have the single language twice. I do not know why...

Because the mechanism is designed to flip the day wheel two places during the switch.

Right, but why not always have two languages? Or like I've seen on some Seikos a number for the day?

Can't say why some manufacturer's wouldn't naturally put two languages. Not sure what they were thinking. However, I'm pretty sure that every watch shipped to the USA will have Spanish and English day wheels..... probably set to Spanish initially, and you have to "Press 2" for English. :D

As fellow contributors have said it would normally occur on a dual language model . Examples are all Sieko 5 day date autos . In Europe it’s normal English and French but I also have a English and German one. Are the two days in the same colour font ?

    Almost certainly.

With my bilingual Seikos, the second language shows up for an hour or two starting around 9:30pm. @Archer would be better suited to answer this, but I think that the 2nd version of the day is there because the movement takes several hours to complete and it's better to see something (regardless of language) than nothing.
