Hello, I am new to this forum and I am writing from France.
Excuse me for my English language because it's a Google translation.
I bought in a flea market the watch which you will find the pictures below, I am not an expert in watch but seeing Omega brand I did not hesitate especially for the price, I think that the seller did not really know the value (or not) of this watch, it was an individual who sold many other things without interest.
In looking on the basis Omega it seems that it is a Seamaster caliber 562 ref 166.001 (I did not open it, I'm waiting to go see a watchmaker to do it). It is gold-plated (there is an indication of 40 + the Omega logo in a between-horns) (see photo).
For me it would rather be a model for women because the original bracelet was quite short, the loop is there too. It works very well.
    What do you think ?
Is it a real Seamaster? Is this the right model?
I'll send photos from inside as soon as it's opened.
Thanks in advance to all for your advice.

PS: Anyway, whether true or false it will remain in this condition, I love her patina and after a change of bracelet (with the old loop) it will be my favorite watch!

But I would still like to know if it is authentic ...

    Hi and welcome here!

Looks authentic to me and in very good condition, xcellent pick up! What did you pay?

How much is the diameter without crown?

Looks like a mans watch to me, should be 35mm...

    Congrats!

Wow! That's proibably the best 5 euro you'll ever spend. I am a new comer to this site, but I think you have done very well for yourself. Congratulations. I wish I could go to a flea market in France, the best I could do was a $5 Seiko at the flea market here in the US.

The crown alone is worth much more than you paid- well done! The case plating is starting to wear a bit, but it’s even and is aging nicely.

Find a local watchmaker and have it properly serviced. These watches look beautiful on burgundy Crocodile straps.
    Enjoy!

Good evening, I am a small player in the world of watches. I am rather interested in an old French brand: LIP, which has a long history and was doing mid-range watches. There was a Lip next to this Omega and that was what interested me. When I took the Omega and asked for the price, I was so surprised that I bought it without thinking. Deep in my brain Omega was telling me something. Now I understand ... So here is my first Omega ... and surely the last one.
