Hi all,

I recently purchased a Seamaster Cal 420 Ref 2714-6SC with a Honeycomb dial. First of all, I assume it is a redial? I can't seem to find this model with a honeycomb dial anywhere? And I was also wondering is there a ball park figure that these guys go for because I am not sure if I overpaid and it is too small for me, so I am thinking of selling it on to someone who will probably appreciate it more than me.

TIA!

Redial, relume, very polished, movement in a sorry state… unfortunately, this hasn’t much going for it.

Value is difficult to say, depends on the perspective. To a collector this is close to worthless. Realistically, if you are genuine and disclose its faults, it’ll still fetch something like 200-250€ or so I’d guess on the open market. If this wasn’t a butchered watch and was fully original I’d guess 500€ would’ve been realistic.

Next time, ask here in advance and avoid the disappointment. We’ve all been there and most of us have made purchases we’ve come to regret. Hope it doesn’t spoil the hobby for you.

Ooofff.

Look at the wear on the back of the lugs. That gives you an indication of what the case was like before someone polished the hell out if it.

I’d return if you can. Value is very low

Thanks very much! What a shame to have been stung by this but I didn't overpay by much. Hopefully someone will appreciate it more than me!

Thanks for your help. It's a shame, but lesson learned!
