Another Golden Squirrel Moment from my past... Gold Capped (?) Seamaster Automatic Ref 166.087 on Leather strap and Omega Buckle. Fully serviced February 2015 by STS in UK. Bought by me about five years ago. It was the perfect watch for me at the time as I was working in Bangkok humidity and riding motorcycle taxis (which had already claimed a speedmaster bezel). In an inexplicable moment of madness I sent it to STS for a full service in 2015 and paid £327 for a full service of its calibre 1002. It is running perfectly and I will personally guarantee it for six months after sale - you do have to get it back to me. It was cleaned and hand polished when serviced. Dial is perfect. I am changing my habits and refocusing my collection. So I put offer this for sale. It is a fantastic watch. I find gold watches especially difficult to photograph. This watch looks even better in the metal. It will come on an elephant strap with a period Omega matching buckle Watch is in the UK, and price of £595 includes: Strap, Omega buckle, (Believed genuine) STS paperwork No 329146 from 26/2/2015 showing a full service for £327. UK Post Delivery: UK: free, or Face To Face in Surrey I will be traveling to USA on 11 May if a USA buyer wants it posted from there. I have many seller references, and I am a private collector selling only to make space, not for profit. (In case you could not tell).
Not gold capped, 40 micron plating (which is still above most other manufacturers). But that doesn't alter the fact that this is a beautiful example. GLWYS And it's a SPARKLY! If only I hadn't weaned myself off gold watches
So you're asking £595 for this watch. Many new collectors, and even experienced ones, factor in the cost of a service when buying a watch (or they should do that). You are offering this one with a recent full service (by STS, a highly qualified service centre), included in the price. So in effect, you are selling the watch for £595 and factoring in that service, the value of the watch is about £268. A bargain!
Sigh.... Why is it that we daily see beginners here, showing up corpses they dug up in the graveyard (ebay), and which they paid more for, rather than buying this fine entry level Omega from @Spacefruit? Come on guys, someone of you should pick this one up! It's a great piece, good looking, and ready ro wear and enjoy. What else is there to ask for?
