Hi. This is my first post so please bear with me. Always had a yearning for an Omega and was given one for my 21st many years ago. I wonder what happened to it. So when I saw this Omega Seamaster going for less than £100 in an antiques auction (not on line) I couldn't resist it. It works fine but it gains 5 mins everyday and the crystals is a bit scratched. I am wondering whether it is worth getting it serviced (about £80) and the crystal replaced because I am concerned about its authenticity. As you can see from the pictures there is no hippocampus on the back. It just says "Waterproof". If it is pre-1960 shouldn't it also say Omega. Also, there is no logo on the crown.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
